The final date for Windows XP will be August 31, 2009. Seems like Vista wasn't so hot after all. When the ads started with 'Check this out' and then spin 'It's not so bad,' you knew it wasn't going to last.
Most will never adopt it due to compatibility issues, instability, not so user friendly user interface, and generally bogging down even the best computers.
Looks to me like they're holding off for the new WINDOWS 7. Yes the beta is out and while it too closely resembles Vista, the processes
then you may consider making the switch. The release of Service Pack 1 has made Vista faster and more stable.

April Fools Virus?
The more we learn about the Conficker virus, the more frightening it looks. Jane asks, "Am I safe as long as I'm careful about the websites I go to?" Grant questions, "How do I know I have the virus?" This worm spreads in many different ways - across a network, on a flash drive, and from a "drive by hijacker" website. If you find your antivirus wont update or security websites are blocked, you might have this virus. If you check to see whether you have the Microsoft update that addresses this, it shows a false update in the list. It is not a program, but rather something fragmented across the infected hard drive. It does not have instructions to harm your computer until it finds them from the host website. It is believed that the worm checks up to 50,000 websites a day to find it's instructions. So it is difficult to detect on a computer, randomly floating from one website to another and no one knows what it plans to do. Will it steal passwords or your identity, or just erase your hard drive. The most important solution to this is to have had Microsoft Automatic Updates turned on so your Windows has the latest updates. AVG Free, as well as other antivirus software, will protect you if they were updated. If it's too late and you have it, get off the internet. There are removal tools available to help you.
